Very easy to do. Just be sure to count the threads or measure the distance the latch arm is up or down the shaft to prevent you from alot of adjusting, and re-adjusting. Also, from experience, be sure to remember the direction of the handle and which way the latch arm is pointing when you take it out, doesnt screw anything up, just makes you swear when you have to undo the arm and spin it around after you install it. Now for my 2 cents, I am an energy conservationist, I like to conserve my own energy when fishing, I prefer the old Perko latches as apposed to the new owns. The new chrome latches available from BassCat do not fold like the old ones. Meaning this, with the plastic and the older chrome latches you can unlock and unlatch and fold the handle back down when you are done without having to turn it and latch it. The new latches have to be latched everytime you close the lid if you want them to sit flush while you are fishing and walking around on your deck . You must latch the compartment, or else they stick up and your partner breaks the dang thing, or you step on it bruise your barefoot, either way bad words that you wouldnt say around any lady start flying. If you want to see one before buying let me know I have a box of new ones that I put in and took back out before finding the old chrome Perko latch and I will send 1 to you. With the bad about the latch, I must tell the good. The new latch by design will not let water into your compartment because the lock is in the handle and not in the body, so water cannot get in.
