We aren’t sure what the scenario is for BCB staff here, though this moderator is not aware of it.

Power Poles and Talons honestly don’t drag no matter the bracket. We have shot several videos from the back end which show this. The 360 and mounts add rear weight and cantalever the transom to prevent hole shot. Any weight added to the rear holds the bow from coming over.

I put talon brackets on my boat, which are still on there because the PP brackets BROKE and also BENT. I sent pictures of this to PP. They sent me brackets and then I sold them. PP going to send me a new pole when and if the bracket breaks again and the pole ends up in the water, don’t think so. I used talon because they are a stronger bracket and I was able to tuck them almost flush to the boat because they are adjustable, unlike PP brackets. Also the bolt patterns are identical. The rear 360 was not a big issue for me. You may have got me ALITTLE on the hole shot, but I blew by ya on the top end,lol. All brackets are produced by Talon. Later I sold the rear 360 when front 360 was made available. Hope it helps.

I used Talon brackets for my Poles on my Bay boat…worked great, same bolt holes but they are much heavier than PP brackets but I didn’t care about holeshot on my bay boat.

I fish some pretty ugly stump fields and have never broke a PP support. My PP brackets are tucked right next to my hull. I cannot slide my hand between them.
That extra hole I the prop makes a big difference in Hole shot!! That prop has some serious cup to it!

Stump fields have nothing to do with the brackets breaking/cracking or bending. Vibration caused the brackets to break/crack and I am sure resistance in regards to the pole and water caused the brackets to bend. And if ya are wondering, yes I had the correct brackets on my boat per PP. I ordered them via phone conversation with them. Sense I put Talon brackets on I have NEVER had a issue sense then. I think I put them on in 2010 maybe. The comment regarding the prop, I did that trick before the poles were ever put on because of hole shot issues. The mod just complimented itself when the pole’s were installed.

I figured hard preload from wind or current when PP deployed would bend or break them. The Talon brackets are definitely heavier.
