Actually that remote is pretty neat in the fact that you dnot need to open the rear compartment lid to visually see whether or not youre charging. The reason that it probably wasnt mounted is because it is left up to the owner of the boat on where to mount. Some may want it inside the bilge. Some may want it in on the gunnel near the rear deck, or even at the console. I had one mounted on my 04 FTD. Bass Cat placed it at the gunnel on the rear deck. Worked fine and never gave any problems. If you choose not to mount the remote, just make sure that the wires on the charger are not left hanging down in the bilge where they could sit in water. This may cause premature failure of your charger. Good luck whichever way you decide to go!
