When I removed the wheel there is a metal extension ring on the shaft which is also part of the shaft. How does this remove for the install? Any help would be great.

You unbolted the wheel from the hub using the 6 cap screws. These are not how you remove the wheel, the hub itself has one nut and a puller or other method (FAQ) will remove the wheel hub. The cap screws should not be removed. Your looking for three wires on the engine harness, purple(+), green(up) and blue(down). These should be in the actual engine harness where these enter the control box and will be extended to the bow switches with 3 added wires. BCB

I remember 20 years ago doing that on a 200 Venom, except I was adding the two button switch on the wheel. I recall that the switch came with a couple of feet of the coded wire, and all I had to do was tap into the coloured wiring just as BCB suggested above. It actually was pretty simple. I also added floor trim switches on that one.

And Up goes on the bottom of the switch, while Down goes on the top.
