Prop for 94 P2?

Gotta ask the question. I have a 94 P2 with a 94 200 Mariner on It with 230 hours I have about the same problem as Smittytec. Where if the gas tanks are full and partner fishing and live wells full it takes for ever to get up on plane but once there no problems what so ever. The boat use to belong to the Partee family and every one has told me that it was always taken care of and never abused. Running a 25 Tempest now.

Tempest props are know for speed while the trophy(4 Blade ) are better for carrying a load, you might see if you can find a trophy to see if it helps, or have a good prop guy work on your current prop to help you out a little bit.Is your tempest one of the newer ones with teh “PVS” system this helps set up your prop a little better for holeshot by changing out the plugs to get the right amount of exhaust blow by.

Boats tend to age and let down a little in performance. This could be many things or just that particular application. We assume that is the Teal boat and the package came from MD with the Engine form another source were unaware of. The 25 Tempest might be a littel stiff for tha 2.5 block and you could go to a 23 trophy or a 24 Tempest. Also remove the hole ventilation plugs, if that prop has them.
