Prop for a P-III w/ a 200 Yamaha V-Max?

Ive been running a Yammie 25M prop on my boat for some time, though with full tanks, tourney partner, gear, and full livewells, my P-III is really a pig getting out of the hole and up on plane. Once we get going, we can fly! Should I try a 24 Tempest Plus for a better holeshot while maybe losing 1-2 mph on top? Or give a different 25 pitch a try? Just curious in Dallas!

A 25 M has vent holes usually cut into the prop that goes down in the housing and there is know way of using plugs. I have a 25 tempest been reconditioned by myself runs great. I run a 150 yammi with this prop and ran 62 and have great whole shot. I have a 2002 classic with a 200 Yamaha VMax. Ive also been running a 25M prop with good results on my boat. Ive tried a 25 Tempest with the exact same results. The tempest provided no benefit over the 25M. Ive also tried a 25 Trophy. The 25 Trophy does improve holeshot significantly, but runs about 1-2 mph slower on top end. The 24 pitch tempest or trophy might help, but its just a personal preference. Oh, if you decide on the Trophy prop, you should probably get the blow out ring also. Without the blowout ring, I had significant problems with blowout while trying to come out of the hole. With the blowout ring, holeshot is great. Hope that helps.
