Prop question

To the smart people with all the information at there, please explain the difference in performance in a 4 blade and a 3 blade prop. Can you say that a 3 blade 25P trophy would be close to a 24P 4 blade Trophy? I had a 25p Tempest 3 blade on my 05 Classic but could not turn but 5150 rpm at about 5000 feet elev. I got a 4 blade Trophy 24P now but havent had a chance to run do to snow and ice on the water. Will this prop help me out with rpms and top end or hole shot? I have a 200 efi 2005 on it. Also how do I find the gear slip? Thank you for your help.

I am currently still experimenting since Ive only had her for about a month. I am currently running a Hydromotive 27p( 4 blade), which handles great , top end by the previous owner was 78-80 @5750. He also ran both the 26 and 27p Fury, and told me on the 27 was hands down better on this particular hull with awesome acceleration and top end around 83mph. He did say handling was a little worse with the Fury in comparison, but not bad. Traybird messaged that the 26p Fury ran better on his boat. I have not run the 27 Fury yet, its my spare. Have been playing around with my set-up for full tournament loads to get that dialed in , then Ill play around with the spare.

fury because of the all around better characteristics. A 27 Trophy is a little quicker on the top end

Depending on load prolly a 26 or 27 Fury, or possibly a Trophy.

Probably your safest bet would be a 26 Fury.

Depends on what the previous owner has on the boat as far as prop, and what his performance numbers are/were. May not need to change anything. I ran a 27 fury on my 04 with XS . Turned it to the limiter in cooler weather and it flew!

You likely need a 25 Fury. It will run lower in the water than your current trophy and it will get out of the hole and load 10 times better.

Some run a 26 Fury and even the Ventless in a larger prop. The engine should handle a few more RPMs and be sure you run it loaded before you jump up on propeller
