Use the jack plate to raise the engine to clear transom. You only need to tilt the engine high enough to put a motor totor on.Im not tilting it that far. When installed jackplate I checked clearances by tilting that far up,finding that steering will hit jackplate. While 95% of the time I am the one working on it,there is that 5% that a service tech. or friend will be tilting too far with plate down. Been pretty adiment about it and really see very slim chance of it happening.Anyways back to my question, should I drop motor to next hole on bracket? Only asking to see if that 3/4″ would make that much difference if I find myself in big enough water to where it becomes a slow chug to get through.
