prop vent question

My prop is a Trophey it has preformance vent system plugs that have about a half inch vent holeIf I want to try plugging the hole do I need to remove the current plug and try a solid ones or can I get something that will fit the hole that is in the current plugJust wanting to see if I can improve the hole shot I cant tell but my FIL who is moe experienced said he thought it was slipping a little.Also can you remove the plugs without destroying them so that if this is not the issue I can re install them

Yes you can , try one plug at a time. And they are reusable

so should I remove the current plugs and try it with solid plugs ones or just find a plug to fill the 1/2 hole in the current plug also what is the best method to remove them with out destroying

Mercury make a series of plugs from solid to more open than your standard plug. We believe there are four plug options and a Mercury dealer should stock those. You can also run a vent ring often called a weed ring, though its for reducing propeller venting.
