question for bcb

i have a 2008 PII. i bought it out of state. they were very little help when i bought the boat and now theyre not a dealer anymore for basscat. anyway, i have had the boat a year this month. there is not dealerswithin a 120 miles of me. the storage box on front deck just in front of the ice chest, the inside lights have never worked in the compartment. all the bulbs are tight and do not look burnt and all the connections seem tight. can you suggest what i might trace to find the problem. thanks

I am not BCB but do know a little about props. The tempest prop on your rig should give you the best top end. I believe props are a matter of personal preference to be honest. I like a 4 bladed prop on all my rigs. Just like the all around performance they give. Get better lift with one, better rough water riding and I personally do not think you give up that much top end when set up right. Not sure this answers your question but hope it helps a little. You might want to try posting this in the owners section. You will get a lot more responses to your question over there. Oh yes, it is a good idea to have 2 props. You might want to try and get a deal on a 4 bladed prop. Try them out and which ever one you like the best is the one I would run. Keep the other for a spare. Good LuckJoey

There is one propeller we are going to be recommending more, and that is a 25 Laser II series. The Tempest has been a good option for EFI and Carb engines, though could be better on the Optis series. Depending on the rig and load, either one may work. We think the Laser II will be a nice compromise.BCB

The P4 would have to be totally redesigned to accommodate lighted rails. It is not a retro fit item. We no redesign concepts on the P4. We are totally pleased that it is hitting the middle aged to older angler who want a good ride and a smaller rig. They also are usually pleased to have a 200 HP engine.BCB

Definitely a 99 based upon that HIN.Good both either way…my opinion is the no wood deal is way overrated. There were lots of good wood boats and especially BCB.This is your owners manual…let us know if you have questions. There is a dash owners manual on one of the drop down menus on the main page.Drive it like you stole it and be careful if you havent owned a total performance bassboat in the past as they do require some driver input.Congrats on the new ride!!!!Judd Lasiter

Hey there,I am also a new owner also, and best thing to do, I think is just get out on the water and learn about your boat. I seem to learn something new everytime I go out. They are awesome boats, I think if you own another boat, you are missing out.

Other than your transom, this is an All Fiberglass product which was built almost covertly and the construction methods were not ever released to anyone including dealers on these models. The transom on your boat could also be a vacuum molded glass transom, though we would almost have to inspect it as not all are recorded. Though your boat is the new rounded styling, and these all built with fiberglass construction.BCB

You miss copied a number, though they are working on it. Your 8 is a 6 and your boat was originally built for an individual inside the facility. We are not sure if it was a brochure boat or not, that we will have to verify and we do not think so from our records. BCB

I also have that similar question. I was told that my 96 PII was a “special” color combo for that year. I have never seen another boat like it anywhere. The cap and hull are yellow/cap insert and bolt are Malibu Red/pins are Candy Apple/boot is black/Carpet is red. Any idea BCB? Since I bought it used and from the original owner I thought it would be cool to know if I got something that not many people have. Thanks.Jason McDaniel

Nothing special in Yellow. We built one of the first (#4) Bass Cat boats in Canary Yellow. It has come and gone on a fad since then. Lots of folks have made claims to have the first Yellow boat, or starting a trend. This trend went in and out in the 70s. It died in the 80s, and we revived it in early 1990s. The newer rounded styling has assisted in the popularity of Yellow. The combination you have is not special, other than it may have been a custom order. Though many BCBs are special order. We have done virtually all color combinations at some time. While folks may think they have an original, and we understand how much they would like to be the one who started a trend, facts are that we have seen most all combinations.BCB
