It will be the same format of style as the other models, though with that massive hull. It will bring back some of the concepts previously preferred on other models and it has some new tweaks to market also. There will be no details at this time and the tooling shop is now closed down to visitors by Ron & Rick. No access granted! After next week only staff working in that building are allowed. Ivan and others are not allowed in after the first of January. Only development staff will see the new Jaguar until it nears completion. And there are a few neat concepts from artwork and internal; concepts we have seen that will tweak some folks though process. BCB
The Dealer Meeting was discussed in an in house memo last week. Though no final decisions were made yet. Rick has them working on sending out returnable cards to dealers to estimate participation in the event. Some companies are not having a meeting, and some only recently made that decision. We dont know what the plans are at BCB yet. They are still working on 2009 so no decisions were out yet was the stance. BCB Admin.
You would get more response over on the general topics owners board, but sounds like something is wrong with only 61 running a 175 efi. What kind of load are you carrying…fuel/people/livewells full or empty. What is propshaft to pad measurement. Water pressure at wide open throttle? Lots of variables…how long have you owned the rig? Sabre with a 175 should get you to upper 60s easily, so something is amiss.96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
Ive owned the boat for three weeks. Over the weekend I got the boat up to 63.7 gps at 5800 rpms carrying myself, rods and tackle and not much else with livewells empty and around 20 gal or less gas. Tried a 25 tempest plus and got up to 64.7 but didnt like the hole shot and had to keep the throttle mashed to get 5600 rpms at wot. The boat is in near mint condition along with the hull. Currently running a 24 trophy plus. around 20 psi at wot. Not sure how to level out the boat to measure propshaft height. I know the trailer must be level, but what about the motor, level too or where it would be at wot? thanks for the response jignpig.
I put your post over on the owners board. You will get a lot more help and responses over there. Below is a link to the post. Good Luck http://basscatowners.yuku.com/topic/9216
Sorry I dont have any real info other than what jignpig said. I have a 92 Sabre with a 150 Evinrude and Im hitting 63.2 GPS with a heavy load. You certainly should be in the high 60s with a 175. Im sure now thats its over here on the general topics board, someone will have some suggestions to help you out.Jim EbarbMany, LA (Toledo Bend Lake)2004 Cougar/ 225 OptimaxHumminbird Helix 12 Chirp SI on BalzOut Mount at bowLowrance HDS 7 at bowHumminbird Helix 12 Mega SI on Ram Mount at ConsoleLowrance HDS 8 in dash at console
I hit low 60s loaded in my 08 Sabre w/ 150 efi. Im turning a 24 Tempest Sounds like you need to take the folks that sold you the boat for them to run.
Your motor sounds like it could be low with that much water pressure….try raising the engine to get your rpms up on the 25 Tempest and play with the plugs to get the hole shot that you want. You should not have any trouble turning a 25 Tempest to 5800 with the load that you described. ElwoodElwood…..Bass Cat Proud
Im running a 25 tempest no plugs. I see 63-65 all the time(now that I can drive it)..You should be running at least a 25p. Need to play with it, you could be trimming it to much. 1 bump on the trim up and you could lose an 1mph. So dont over trim it. Check your plugs too..
Old Dawg you are gonna make that Jag look brand new by the time you are done with it! The seats may take a little bit of time, but they should be able to get the carpet out to you sometime this week i would expect. At least you can get started with the installation of the carpet.

You want to do that nasty messy carpet job first anyway so you dont get glue on your new seats or powder and stuff in your seams. Hey, I thought that was the idea…..I have a lot of parts coming, not only the ones I mentioned, from BCB but a Keelshield, polished aluminum hot foot plate (with the Bass Cat cut out), hopefully new electronics (if the deal works out) so by the time I get everything done it should look pretty much new. The situation I have here is that I am not permitted to keep the boat in my driveway for more than a few days and it wont fit in the garage so because of that it is in indoor storage over 1 1/2 hours away, the more I can get done when I bring it home the better. I bought the boat in Michigan late in May and only used it when I picked it up…then I spent several weeks getting ready to move. I am close to the finger lakes here in NY but havent had the boat out once since I moved. I am hoping to get a lcx28 and a 520c to replace the original electronics but again, I am waiting on them too. The only carpeting I am replacing is that in the bottom of the boat, seems the previous owner left is sitting level and due to rain leaking though the cover and laying in the bottom it ruined the carpeting…this will be my first attempt at carpeting in a boat. In my opinion BCB are great, it is just kiling me not to have it finished. Last edited by Olddawg on July 13th, 2009, 8:58 pm, edited 2 times in total.
Olddawg, I just wanted to point out that your JAG is one fine looking boat, someone babied that boat and gave it a lot of TLC, I know you;ll be proud to run her when finished!!BAYOU BANDIT
Sam, The boat was built 3/27/2000 and originally went to Brian Ward for 4 years and then to a friend of his. The hull is in perfect condition with no damage…not even a scratch…which is why I want to install a keelshield just so it stays that way. I have ordered just about everything for the interior, all new seats, new style steering wheel, one section of carpeting and some new lights. I installed a windshield and spent about a week and a half buffing and I am sure I will do more on the interior before I am satisfied. I ordered a polished aluminum floor plate for the hot foot from largemouthlou on BBC and from other installations I have seen, they look great. Someone on BBC asked my why I was putting so much $$ into the boat that was over 9 years old and I tried to explain it this way….. I started fishing TXs back in the late 70s in an 12 aluminum boat and due to what I had I was limited to small family type club Txs Over the years I moved up in boats at a slow pace and it seemed like I was always a few steps behind. When I finally bought my first glass boat I was at least 4 years behind in the model year so I just gave up trying to have a new boat or even something that was considered a “good brand”. I worked hard and finished second in our BASS chapter club and 8th in our district and due to that I was invited to fish the regiona TX at Raystown Lake in PA. Before that could take place the Steel Mills closed in the Mon Valley and I found myself out of work with a family to support so I sold my ProCraft and that was the end of my Bass fishing for over 20 years. In January of 2008 l was able to purchase a very clean 96 Skeeter ZX180 and in July I lost my job. The last thing to be sold was the Skeeter and hope as I may, a job just didnt happen soon enough to save it. Two months later while looking on Craigs List for a job (great place to look by the way) I wondered to the “Boats for Sale” and found the Jaguar. I knew of the quality from all that I had read on BBC and joined this site to find out more. I checked NADA and knew from selling the Skeeter that boats sell based on condition so the asking price as far as I was concerned was low. I took what I had gotten from the Skeeter and sold my prized R/C sailboats, a rifle and pistol that I had and struck a deal for the Jag and paid cash. To say that my wife was upset is an understatement and after her inital rage hoped like I did that I would find work soon and I vowed that I would NOT sell the Jag if at all possible. A few weeks later one of the jobs I had applied for the same night I found the Jag called…..and to cut things short I was hired. We packed everything up and moved to NY which brings us up to date. I am 59 and within a few years of retirement if I wish so it makes more sense to me to do whatever updates are needed now instead of waiting until I retire. Will it look new…yep! Is it new, nope…….and I dont care one bit….. as far as I am concerned I finally reached a goal I have had all of my life. Thank you all for your support……Last edited by Olddawg on July 14th, 2009, 2:19 am, edited 1 time in total.
It sounds like you have a few different issues. One is related to a continuous horn, and that might be heat, and it could be another sensor. It also coudl be water in an ignition switch, though this is very rare and we only have one other reported incident in the past years of this. And that incident is a multiple occurance on that one boat. The clicking sound is obviously a relay hitting under the dash somewhere. All of this somehow sounds moisture or ground related. BCB
