Hey Bud, when we had a Sabre FTD and a Pantera 2, both 2008s,both dual console with the exact same options, I measured kind of crudely but I think the front deck was approximately 4 1/2 inches longer,the boxes on the p2 where bigger, the rear deck I swear was the same length, one of my customers Ron Vlach and I measured I believe at the boat show and I swear the was the difference, now granted the FTD is bigger on width and length than yours and if your buddys P2 is the older style its different than the current model….Ill tell ya Id say the Pantera 2 is the perfect hull, any of the current 200 2 strokes Rock n Roll on the back, and the boat can be had for a great price….The best deal from BCB in my opinion is the Cougar Advantage Elite with either a 225 HO E-TEC or a 225 Pro XS, granted for a hair more you get a 250 HO or XS, or a Hair less you get the plain 225s and still get a mid 70s boat,maybe a hair more, BCB had a 2009 at the dealer meeting with a Regular 225 Evinrude E-TEC, it had the Club Magnum Lower unit, which is a killer lower unit and reliable,but big and not very quick…..Either way have your Local Dealer price out some packages, and heck you can find I think some NEW 2007s in California, if their still there, however some 09s and 08s are gettin to be a smoking deal, Have Fun gettin measurements and remember as long as its a BCB its gonna be a fine boat….Brannon MQMSS.COM 920-295-2069 (anytime)Your Signature …

The 1992 deck is not wider, it is narrower. That is one of the misconceptions of the newer designs, which is due to the location of the front recess and trolling motor pedal. The decks are a few inches wider than those previous models prior to the recess, though you have the pedal top mounted further back in the boat giving the appearance of the deck being wider. The actual fishing platform is larger due to that pedal moving forwards. It is a optical illusion so to speak, that is not understood by most. If you measure those comparable areas on those decks from the nose, the decks are wider at similar distances back. There is more square footage on the newer models. This is one of the reasons people have commented on the decks being small. Placing that foot pedal up there where you actually gain space makes the sides enclose on you in the bow as this is where the nose narrows to a point. Just a matter of perception and not reality. I bought a 1976 basscat trihull 3 years ago and have been restoring and customizing it since then. How can I find out which model it is. According to the list I found last week on the site there were 2 models listed for that year. I love the boat even tho it is heavy as he–. I also want to change the livewell system to a different system that will pump water in and out instead of just repumping the water from inside the well. I want to keep this boat but want some modern upgrades. This dont eve look like it did 3 years ago. Your help would make me very happy. Hope to here from someone soon.

A 1976 XLII is 16 4″ and 76″ at the beam, with an 18 gallon fuel tank. It was produced in February of 1976 as stated. BCB

Here are some of my observations and BCBs response coming out of my Sabre FTD to a PII for a weekend. I cut and pasted this from BBC. “I just got in from fishing the 3rd SEBCOG with TexaBama. His PII was nice, a DC would have been sweet with the weather this weekend. I had laid a tape on the two decks when looking. I actually had the chance to lay my rods on the front deck of his PII this weekend and run the TM for a few minutes. I laid my long rods right where I lay them in my boat and Id say the the PII front deck is about 3″ longer after actually spending a weekend in one. I thought Id post that for folks looking at the two boats. With the owner loyalty money the bigger boats like the PIV can be had for about the same money if you have the storage room. Your BEST bet is to just go get in some to make sure you dont buy another one and have twofootitus again in another year.

the flipping deck that fits 99 classic is what I had in my 2000 classic, trying to figure out if the flipping compartment I ordered for it and did not use will fit a 99 classic. I assume a 99 classic does not have a cooler step to the front deck so I am wondering if it will fit. I know it will not fit later models that have a step.
