Question on Prop Shaft Height Set Up2006 Puma
I have a question and need the advice of those who have been down this road before; is there a difference in setup for a 26P Tempest versus a 26P Trophy. I have a 2006 Duel console Puma with 225 Pro XS. I run a Medium gear load, 2 people, half a load of fuel. Jack plate is the slide master mounted on the second hole on the motor and the plates are even now. Does the 26P Tempest require a different jack plate height than the 26P trophy? How do you best measure the pad to prop shaft height/difference? I leveled the boat, measured from the pad to the floor, leveled the motor in relation to the boat/pad and measure from the center of the shaft to the floor. Pad was 15 inches to floor and motor was 11 inches to the floor---hence I am 4 inches below pad. Have I measured this wrong? What would be the recommended pad to shaft difference? Is mine to low or to high for a Tempest. What is recommended for each? Thanks for the help.Jack
