Questions about the Eyra from a big guy

Hello, Im new to the site and have great interest in the BC Eyra. I currently have a 20 foot Triton with a 250 Pro Xs and I love the upper 70s speed which is one reason why the Eyra appeals to me. I love the possibility of achieving low 80s depending on setup and weight. Another reason why it appeals to me is because my garage can barely fit my Triton which collapses down to 23 foot. I know the Eyra can collapse into the 228" range depending on motor. Ive done my research, but so far Ive been told that I couldnt fit into a Eyra from a dealer because Im 64" and 230 lbs. They said I wouldnt be able to use the hotfoot due to the cramped lower cockpit. Do any big guys out there have problems with the Eyra? Ive tried to see one but unfortunately it isnt a popular boat and not one dealership has one. I believe Bass Cat said the closest Eyra for me to ride in right now is Rick Pierces and I live in Northern Ohio so that trip is out of the question. I just dont want to waste a all day trip looking at a boat that I cant fit in. Thanks for any help!

The Eyra is a cockpit boat and while some like its seating others prefer a more open and higher seating. It will all depend on your build, if your hips and legs, then probably not your gig. If your body and legs in length then maybe?

I have owned 2 Eyras and was told the same. The Eyra is a great boat! I am 64″ 240#s and 36″ inseam so Im long legged. You will have plenty of room in an Eyra. If you have any questions about the boat you are welcome to call me to talk @ 870-897-1300. Im glad to help with your decision.

I was at a tourney last year in Missouri, I hadnt seen a new Eyra in person and one was at the dock I ran over to take a quick look. Being a big guy myself I was curious, no you dont have the leg room you would in a Puma or Cougar, but it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. Im 6ft 4 260lbs I fit, it wasnt overly roomy but I was not cramping up either. If you want an Eyra because of the performance I think your love for going fast will out weigh the tight cockpit (again not terrible) A dealer flat out saying you wont fit is inaccurate.

My buddy two fishin buddies are 63″ 220lbs and 60″ 240 and both fit fine behind the console.Both have said the Eyra is the finest boat they have been in.

Its funny- different strokes and all-I am about 59 and I wouldnt want to be any SHORTER than I am an own an Eyra particularly if you use the big windscreen.I moved from a puma ftd to this 2015 eyra and having to look throught the glass and see the entire deck was different for me.At this point I wouldnt own another hull than an Eyra.I think the front deck differences in size and arrangement are the only thing you should compare.C.O.D. Thank you everyone for the help. Im a 34 inseam so I like to think Im not overweight, but that just enjoy weightlifting. I will be sitting in a eyra soon. Hopefully Basscat can get a dealer in Northeast Ohio soon! Portage lakes marine never had one so I dont count them. We love to fish and we love our bass boats up here! Thanks again everyone
