Ran the Pro Max prop today

My setup. 2012 Puma FTD 250 Pro XS. Minn Kota 101 on bow plus HDSgen2 10 and Hydrowave. Hds Gen 2 in dash. Twin power poles. 4 batteries. Five gallon bags of plastics. 19 rods and reels. 13 Plano boxes of stuff. Another five storage boxes of plastic. 50 miscellaneous bags of plastic. Spinnerbait racks full of spinnerbaits spare prop two life jackets. Fuel = full (52 gal). Single console. Lss1. Detwiler. Im LOADED. 91 degree air. 89 degree water. Turned my 27 fury to 5890 rpm at 80.2 mph. Decent holeshot. 27 pro max. Blew out on take off. No acceleration. Not very good lift. Topped out at 77.8 at 5510 rpm. Boat was literally all over the place to the point of out of control. Porpoising bouncing, etc. I also had to run jackplate VERY low just to maitnain water pressure. BIG disappointment. I dont think this prop is worth a crap. It might work well with the new gear case but I have a brand new torque master and it sucked on this one. Literally this is the worst prop Ive ran on a FTD so far. 26-27 fury is ten times better. Now I know why BCB hasnt been that fired up about it.

We think it will have uses in the proper pitch for some rigs.

Im thinking a 25-26 ona PII or maybe on the verado s or new gear cases but I was sick about how this thing performed. Btw its for sale lol

I know I know. Just trying to help other guys out. 26 fury is till best for most applications. I love my 27. Gonna start looking for a TXP to try. I gotta good buddy who works my props and seems to think this will run good.

Since you are early in the game youll find a quick buyer.

HC; was that a pro or lab finish prop.how much for that POS prop that mercury racing has been saying is better than the fury?

Settle down boys… Mercury Racing has a totally different mission than each of you. It might be what they need on some flyweight or monster powered rigs.

I bought it from a guy who ran it for ten minutes as did I. Im not posting a price cause its for sale on BBC. It was not a lab finish. Probably a great prop guys just not for my application. I wasnt dogging them in the least …….. Just wanted yall to be aware of what it did on my setup bc I know a lot of yall were drooling over it as was I. I would be curious to see how it would run with the NEW gear case. Im like Tom Im always searching.

not dogging the prop.scott at mercury racing does all my prop work.just wondering about HCs results with it. i remember reading that the pro max likes to run higher than the fury.
