Is this still the course of action to get the part to stop gas spewing everywhere? The fix is a very simple no brainer part, that just has to be tweaked for the installation. We modify them here, and insert them in new boats now, in all tank necks. It is a part as simple as an open ended shotgun shell. A simple red plastic insert that we cut out one end. If any of you would like to insert the alteration, we would be glad to provide the part at No Charge. There is no warranty on insertion of the part, as it was not designed in previous years, and has been a common issue on various boat brands. It can be documented on many brands and on many boards. We have been hesitant to openly discuss the "fix" as our competition would immediately figure it out and have the same resolution. We are giving away a bit of hard research, though a simple solution. We will post how to acquire the part in a few days, for those who desire to do so. The fix will only apply again to most boats prior to 2006 model year. Our thoughts now are for a request with your serial number, and an envelope with a self addressed stamped envelope. We would send the part right out to you. No Charge. The install is simple new, though more difficult for after market as you must access the tank nozzle filler tube.
Theyre probably a little busy with something called the Owner Invitational being held in Mountain Home this weekend. So they dont post much at this time as most everyone involved with BC is working the event. Please provide the year model of boat you have. They may be able to respond by Sunday. Or another owner on here may help
That is still applicable to resolv8ng the issue if your tanks do not have the insert. Some inserts also crumpled in the necks due to tank mfg. errors. That can cause similar back pressure.
I filled my 3 week old Caracal yesterday tank on the port side for the first time, it had 10 gals the dealer put in. I stuck the nozzle in puled the handle and the gas flew all over the place. Is this what the above posts are referring to ? I find this not acceptable for a 70K rig. If there is a fix it should have been done at the factory prior to delivering the boat. What do you say BCB ?
Bassinman, I’m quite sure you will get some help, i’ve seen nothing but great info and help from this company for even those of us with older boats! Good luck with your boat!
Thanks, Brewkrew72, I have become very familiar with there Great Customer Service, a 15 P2 and now this Caracal. The point is I am tired of having issues in a new rig between the dealer and BCB issues keep coming, after waiting 22 weeks its nuts.
This has no reference to the newer tanks with the EPA systems on them. These should have fuel in them slowly at first and they should not belch once they have fumes in them. Those fuel caps would have a series of white vent ports under the cap. New tanks all belch as there are no fumes in them.
