Re-upolstering seats?

I am about to be the proud new owner of a 2002 Bass Cat Pantera Classic with a 150 Optimax! WoooHooo! Im getting it for a steal and about to pick it up pending the motor checking out good during the diagnostic tests. I was wondering if any of you guys can help with finding someone or somewhere who can re-upolster the seats on this boat. Can I send them in to Bass Cat to re-upolster them? Is that waaayyy to expensive? Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated. Im from Northern California so keep that in mind. Also, can anyone give me any hints on polishing/waxing this boat. Its been sittin outside for a couple years and it definitely needs some good ol elbow grease. I know how to wax/polish a car but just wondering if theres anything different I need to know about gelcoats. Thanks guys any input is greatly appreciated!

Elbow grease with a moderate comound, depending on the color. And the seats some use their local upholstery shop, while others order new skins or total seat replacements. BCB

I read your post from last summer and Im in the same position. Just bought a 2007 Pantera with the 200 Optimax. We still have snow on the ground so it will be a bit before I can get it on my home lake (Lake Champlain south). Was wondering, if from one newbie to another, if you could share what surprises came along (good and bad if any) I should keep an eye out for as I learn to use my new toy. My previous boat was a Alumacraft bass boat semi V so I know learning to drive a glass boat with pad is going to be a new experince. I hope you had a great season last year and enjoyed your new boat. This stuff works well to remove oxidation. You have to keep a spray bottle handy or it will dry out before you finish working the product.http://www.aqua-buff.com/Doug McGee is the master at bringing back the shine. He uses a wet sanding method followed up by the 3M polishing system.
