Recommended prop for P3 200 EFI

The 25p Trophy Plus I have is too much prop for my P3 w/200 2.5 EFI. I tried a borrowed 23p 3 blade and it ran much better, but at 60mph, the rpms were at the top of the scale at 5800. So I am looking for a 23p 4 blade prop to help with the top end rpms, but still give me the hole shot that the 23p 3 blade gave me. Any recomendations? I fish big water a lot, so a 4 blade is preferable. I am willing to trade the 25p Trophy Plus which is excellent condition. No dings.

Im not in a huge hurry. I have a 3 blade from a friend that Im borrowing short term. I dont know anything about the High Five. But I think I probably want to stick with a 4 blade. Do you think Im right that a 4 blade will help a little with the top end rpms? Im still trying to figure this all out. Thanks!!!

I have ran a 25 tempest on and a 25 trophy on same rig lost 1/2 mph on gps and whole shot no difference, but could turn sharper and will handle rough water better.

BCB I need your opinion. As I stated above I tried an older Merc 23p 3 blade prop and was at 5800 rpm at 60mph. Previously I did 64 no problem and even hit 69 with a light load using the 25p Trophy. But the hole shot was horrible. In fact, I think it was such a load on the motor it was eventually gonna damage the engine. As you said “too much wheels” for that rig.Is a 4 blade 23p prop the answer for me? Im wondering if a 24p would give me a good hole shot but I cant see only 1 degree of pitch correcting the problems Ive been having with the 25p. The hole shot and midrange with the 23p 3 blade was awesome. Im thinking a slightly larger prop such as the Tempest or moving to a 4 blade Trophy may bring those top rpms down a little. Im having trouble getting anyone to let me try a prop first, so I want to make the most informed decision possible. Thanks again for your help. PS. Does anybody on this board run a PIII with a 200 EFI? If so, what prop is working for you? Help!~ please.

A good prop guy can pitch your 25 Trophy back 1 degree and make it a 24 for you. A 24 is what I would try if it was me. If you are hitting the upper RPM band with a 23 tempest you will do the same with a 23 trophy. Good LuckJoey
