Regarding Detwiler Plates!

Detwiler Hydraulic Plates: IMPORTANT~! This is only a consumer warning for your convenience! It has been known that Detwiler Hydraulic plates can have issue when they are run all the way up to the top for towing or other reasons. There is no stop to prevent stretching the four ram bolts which are 1/4" threaded rods (4). When this occurs, the bolts must be eventually re-tightened. Often within a few weeks or hours, of operation! Do not over extend the center ram, by moving the jack plate to the top or upper most position. Again this is very important, as it the center ram caps will eventually be allowed to work out and the seals on that ram will eventually blow out as the play increases. You can re-tighten the center ram bolts (4) and that will suffice if they are used properly from that point forward. Thanks, BCB ALL CENTER RAM BOLTS SHOULD BE CHECKED OFTEN!
