Removing rear pedestal seat post?

I have a newer Caracal, and I’m having trouble removing the Swivl-eze aluminum pedestal seat post from the rear deck. It seems there is something locking it from under the deck but I cannot find any pin or release mechanism. My previous boat had threaded posts so I’m not used to this style.

Any clues are appreciated…

At the bottom put a small pry bar under the lip and put on the carpet like a thin piece of something for a little leverage and pop it up.  I hope I’ve explained this ok. That what I did.

I’ve dealt with the same issue. Small pry bar is what I use.

Thanks everyone, finally got it to pop out with a big flat head screwdriver. Another tool to keep in the truck!

Put a little grease on it. It helps loosen things up for the next time it needs removed.

Use vasoline, it won’t stain the carpet.

Easiest thing I have used to fix this is to clean off the post, scotch brite pad or OOO steel wool then spray that post with some silicone.  Doesn’t go away, once dry, doesn’t stain anything and yes it does make it easier to pull it out.
