I have some concerns/questions. Number 1 is, will the Ultrex foot pedal fit in the well where my current fortrex foot pedal is or will i need a step pad? Yes, although the footprint is a little larger than the Fortrex, it has fit in all the Basscats Ive mounted them on.Number 2 is, are the whole patterns the same or will I have to fill and drill new mounting holes for the Ultrex mount? Yes, the mount hole patterns line up with the Fortrex MountNumber 3 I currently have an older Humminbird 858 unit that required an external GPS puck, which I mounted near the current Fortrex moun. I am replacing that unit with a Helix 10″ so can I use the hole that I drilled for it to mount the Minn Kota puck? Yes, the Heading sensor for the Ultrex just needs to wired into the boat wiring. All you need is a place to get positive and negative connections which can come from the accessory switchNumber 4 is, do I need to run any new power wires up front to complete the Ultrex installation or am I good with whats already there from the Fortrex? The Basscat is wired with 6ga, so youre good to goNumber 5 is, will I be able to mount the old Fortrex unit in the Ultrex mounting bracket should I ever need to? Yes, but you cant put the Ultrex on the Fortrex mount. Last question is, is I-Pilot really worth the $400-500? Here Im just asking for personal opinions or observation from using it. That depends on if you would use the perks such as the ability to follow contour lines, the ability to set routes/trails.If I can help, give me a call.John
