You wont get any recommendations from Bass Cat on adding padding. Unless you use the proper type then youll carry around added weight from water saturation. Even if you use the right type padding, expect the carpet to turn loose at the edges over a period of time. If the padding deal worked, BCB would have done added it to their boats!

They tend to create rolls of waves in the carpet like under an office chair without a plastic shield. BCB
