Topic: Replacing Fender trim?

What do you think about replacing the fender trim on my dual axel trailer without the rivets. Im thinking of using a nice little bead of clear silicone and installing the trim this way instead of re-riviting. Dont know if it will work but I do know that good silicone will hold extremely well once dried. I think the install would look cleaner too without the rivits breaking up the look of the trim. Hey Chris, be the first in your neighborhood and just take the fenders off. I am not sure if the trim will stay in place, but sure BCB will be along. Have a good weekend. pant 2 Bob

Shap, I would go with the rivets to fasten the trim. Yes, it will take a little longer but it will be right the first time. Im sure if it would work, BCB would have done it that way in the initial install. My .02 It does sound like a great idea thou. Glynn

If you do not want to use the rivets, then use black windshield urethane. The silicone is not the best answer, and we would use urethane, though it would cost too much in labor and waiting on our end. Very good stuff for this application! We do use it on a couple of securing applications and we have great success with it.

Does the factory offer the trim through the parts department. I would like to replace mine on my P – 3 trailor. Thanks. Brian Chance

Absolutely! You can also often purchase trim locally at hardware outlets, though that is also inferior on the internal spring clamp and grip edge.

Just got my parts in today. I will be working on replacement Tommorrow after work. I think Im going to go with BCBs suggestion on the windshield urethane. Sounds like that will be a permanent fix and I think it will look really smooth. The only thing that didnt come in is the bunk carpet, but that will be following soon. I got my new hub assembly, bearing kit replacements for all the other wheels, fender trim, new LED tail light to replace a cracked one. Shell be like new soon.
