Replacing GPS

I am considering replacing the Lowrance M68C that came on my 06 Sabre with a Lowrance HDS-5. My question is will I have to replace the through hull transducer? I want a GPS that shows lake contour, depth, channel, etc. I have heard that the tranducer is not compatible and have also heard that it is but may need an adapter for the plug.

Yes you will have to replace the transducer, or run a adapter cable. We would just replace it. BCB
