Replacing Old Yellow Basspirator Recirculate Pump
Saturday, my recirculate pump gave out in the middle of the day. It is the old yellow Basspirator 750 that may be original on my boat. (1993 Pantera II) Last night I was fiddling with a screw driver from the livewell into the pump to see if it was stopped up. (We had crayfish parts all in the livewells both days, but I had the black screen on the front) I could spin it with my screwdriver, filled it up with water, and turned it on. I could hear it turning, and spitting water, but nothing was coming out the spray bars. I did open the 90 degree nozzle to clear the water, but nothing doing. Not a dribble. There seem to be a real PITA to remove as the yellow cartridge is held into a black housing with 4 screws that are up against the back of the livewell. Could questions, any tricks on removing this to see if the pump works in a separate area, and maybe my spray bar lines are just clogged, or If I need to replace the entire housing as this part is now obsolete.Couple pictures below. Any advice as to how to proceed would be awesome! Thanks!
