Right after I got my 2008 BassCat Cougar AE, the front transducer went out. My dealer replaced it with a trolling motor mount transducer. Thats fine. Just last week I noticed that the rear one was not reading correctly. When I got home, I looked in the rear compartment and found that the transducer had come loose and was just laying on its side in the bottom of the boat. My question is what is the best way to remove the old epoxy and replace the transducer. I know I will probably have to remove pumps and hoses to get to the area where the transducer was located. Are there other areas where the rear transducer can be moved? The transducer works my Humminbird in dash 788.
Yes, you can get a hand in almost to the elbow there, but on the other hand, my TM transducer has always been routed up the shaft, down the cable, and to the sonar, without going into the boat.
I wouldnt worry with trying to clean that old crap out, probably more trouble than its worth. Just get the recommended epoxy, and move it back a little and glue it back down. There are other threads here on how to do that.13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods
Thanks, guys. I was wondering if it would be able to be epoxied in the same place. I had rather try that than have to remove all the hoses and pumps to clean the area to install in another place.
