Repower for a 97 Jag

I am thinking about Repowering a 97 Jag...My hull is in great shape and I have a friend that has an 08 etech for a good price..I currently have a 225 Vindicator carbed that is driving me crazy with heat soak issues..Runs hard and fast but I think a change to an injected motor would be a big upgrade...Also I run on the ragged edge on fuel when making long runs at times...I will probably have to run this hull for another 2-3 years..My question is...I currently have a BP101 dash....It works great but are there any issues that could pop up during a repower?? Is it something I should take down to Sherms to have set up?? (Sherms is about 4-5 hours away at least)....

Some BRP engines do have a little freik in the sending that confuse the tach and provide invalid readings. That is the only issue. BCB

I think if you can get a Smokin Deal on a Used ETEC, and it checks out with a Certified BRP Tech, then you should go for it. I helped a buddy get a 2006 200HO (225hp) last year, it was about $7000 and 100% Mint. See with Evinrude in the Upper Midwest they support the Local Ski Teams, so a guy can get his hands on a Used (Lightly) ETEC for pennys on the dollar. I also have a 97 jag , love fishing out of it and it still looks great. Have a 200 merc efi and thinking about getting somthing with less hours. Basscat has me hooked never buy another brand.
