We suspect either the power from the junction strip on the transom or the power out of the BP- dash.

You manual has a wiring schematic which will indicates which wire is the feed to the lights. Trace that with a voltmeter and see if you have power there. If not, then they may have missed something on the rebuild when checking it out on final.

Most of these are usually ground related. If that helps any?

The alarm still works when armed when opening the rod box. Would this rule out the bp101 and where would I start with the volt meter and what ground would I check other than the battery and some terminals in a few of the boxes. I hate electrical problems!!!!!!!!

Sounds like the unit is making the connection, though outgoing power needs to be checked. It sounds to us like there is a unit problem since the refurb, that the power supply is not providing positive current.

Though it seems that the unit is getting a communication.

The ground activates the lights, and is monitored by the unit for the SS system to work.

There should always be a hot positive (+) in the boxes to the lights. That is where we would check first.

Appreciate all the help……… Contacted Southwest Ele. and they will check the dash at no cost. They are also sending new surface temp sensor but I have no Idea where it is located on the 97 Jag and how to get to it.

You will have to place it in the harness to the cannon AMP plug and back of the unit. There is a three (3) wire pig tail coing off the cannon plug which it will plug into. BCB

did some more chcking before I sent my dash back in found out my volt meter not working properly. I checked the white wire coming out of bp101 and noted power coming out went to the light under drivers seat and took a light out and stuck the black test lead in the socket and the red on the white wire is and still getting power there any suggestions….?????????

It must be in the ground itself or the hot wire supply.

We know you voltwmeter is not working, though it will have to be reverse traced.

Otherwise there are too many areas to speculate here.

Only in that box supposably, unless the wiring has been tweaked trying to repair the system without understanding it is ground oriented.
