Sabre fuel line replacement question for BCB

I have a 2000 model Sabre. I checked my fuel line last night and I DO need to replace it(its the one with the red writing). My question is, what all do I need to replace? Will the kit for sale in the parts section be all I need. I see theres much larger black line going in and coming out on top of both fuel tanks. Does that need replacing too? Where does the large black pipe coming out of those tanks go to......the fuel selector switch? Its extremely unpleasant to be outside right now due to polar wind and I keep my boat under an awning outside with the Deans cover on it so I didnt investigate a whole lot. I apologize for my lack of knowledge. I also have what I think is a water separator? mounted on the rear seat pedestal stabilizer pole. Fuel line going in and coming out, maybe a fuel filter? Its black and about the size of the oil filter that goes on my truck. I should be able to work on anything in the sump in the dark due to the amount of time Ive spent back there trying to run down a water leak!! Got that fixed though. Any help would be appreciated!!

For what its worth, Ill share my recent experience.(95 Pantera II)The kit replaces the hose only from the fuel selector to the engine cowling. (with all necessary hardware)My boat has two fuel tanks. So I have a large gas line coming from each tank and going to either side of the fuel selector. In addition, I have a large hose that appears to connect both gas tanks directly. I have heard this called the “balance hose”, probably for pressure equilization….but Im no mechanic.My hose from the tanks to the fuel selector were labeled “A1” and then read 1994. I told parts about this and they were convinced that these hoses were good. The only hose in question is the one that the engine manufacturer installed or provided at the time of engine installation.It took longer to get the old hose off than to put the new on. It was a breeze. (Granted you have non polar weather and fingers that arent frozen).Good luck.

On a 2000 model Sabre you are due a new line for the main grey one.

Thanks BCB and Newbcbowner. Ill get that grey line and bulb replaced pronto. Is there a fuel line that needs replacing inside the cowling?

Also, I dont know what the black canister is on your boat.I only have a fuel filter that screws onto my motor.You guys with all of your new fancy boats and all….

It was on there when I bought the boat from the previous owner. I had the mechanic put me on a new one when I had it serviced and I think I remember him telling me it was an extra fuel water separator. I think theres one on the motor too. Not sure but everything works fine so I havent changed it.

Yes it is a fuel filter, though you may have one on your engine that is adequate. It may be a smaller canister.
