Sabre XR-6 (150 hp) – Oil Consumption

I'm running a new '06 Sabre with Merc. XR-6. Still on double oil break-in. I had an issue after I bought the boat with the motor not being set up correctly. I blame myself for not going on a test run in 40 degree rain. Anyways the dealer I went to was a good 2 hours away. So I took it to a local premier Merc. shop. They told me the throttle cables were set up incorrectly and that the oil injection system was not bled. I am by no means a mechanic so this is my interpretation of what they said. So I called my dealer and told him this. They said that they definetly took care bleeding those lines. I believe both places as they are both reputable. So now I'm about ready to come off the double oil break-in period. I made a mark on the oil tank for the last two trips. I maybe ran an hour on these two combined and the oil level dropped not quite 3/16 of an inch. Does this sound correct? Could there be a problem that I am unaware of? My biggest fear is going off double oil and blowing it up. The Merc. shop I took it to said that prior to having the set up corrected, that if I wasn't running double oil; I would have blown the motor up. For those buying new boats, don't make the mistake I made. Be sure to take it for a test run. Taking your motor anywhere but the dealer you bought it from will cost you to have it set up, not covered by warranty. Lesson learned. Thanks. Jason
