Sam will be sorely missed and was a friend of ours for many years. We really enjoyed him every year at the Invitational and he was always just Sam. A few weeks back I got an email as several did and knowing Sam it was a concern. He never asked for more than he deserved and two lost in a one year period around the Jackson area is hard. JJ Wilson and now Sam. Sam was sincere in everything he did and while he said he would not be at the Invitational on Sam Rayburn, one has to wonder if he knew.
