I have a Detwiler 8″ Hydraulic plate and was able to use an existing hole on the starboard rear lower side to mount a 3″x6″x2.5″ piece of L shaped stainless. This piece is mounted by one large stainless bolt that fits the hole perfect. I believe the hole is 1/2″ in size. I cant remember the length of the bolt but it was long enough to use washers plus a stainless lock nut. I then used the mount that came with the ducer and on the transom end, connected it to the lower edge of the stainless. I will exchange the shorter bolt that was given for a longer stainless as soon as I get the chance. With the install like this, the ducer is able to raise and lower along with the jack plate. When idleing thru a stump infested area, I will just raise the plate to help protect the ducer. Sorry if the photos arent up to par, it was dark when I took them.
