Seat Replacement for 95 P2

I recently purchased a 95 P2. It has the old style bench seats. Unfortunately, it has the storage all the way across the width of the boat under the seats. According to BCB it is NOT possible to replace this type seat with the new bucket style seats. I was just wondering if anybody else has dealt with this issue and how you were able to improve on the current bench seat. I truly love everything about my new to me Kitty. But, I sure would like to update that bench seat to a more comfortable bucket style seat without losing the storage area under the seats and assuring that it will remain dry. Any thoughts??ThanksMike

How about mount the new seats to the old pan. Is there a pan?

I just had the seats recovered in my 95 PII but I thought about doing the same thing as you. I figured I would remove the frames out of the original seat bottoms, carpet over them, and attach the bucket seats to them. That would allow you to keep the storage area covered and have a step area between the seats.

You may have to rig some kind of quick disconnect on the seat.

I knew you guys would come up with some good ideas!! I like the idea of Alabass…. Im not sure what problems this mount might create – like, will the seats sit too high, or will the seats be able to tilt forward enough to access storage, or will the new bucket seats fit at all???? I think this might be worthy of a phone call to BCB. I know there are other owners of that model Pantera that would love to upgrade to the new style bucket seats. At $750 per set of new seats, I would think it would be profitable enough to be worth of consideration by BCB. What do ya think BCB??Guys, keep those good ideas coming. Theyre much appreciated.Mike
