Second trip in 08 Puma

Well had my second, third and fourth days on the water in 08 Puma w/250XS. Got in some pretty rough water on the second day it handled it great. Ran 77 on blast off. Running regular jack plate and 26 Trophy. I will post some pictures when I remember to bring my camera home from work. I did have one minor problem, the speedo line came off and gave me a shower on the way back in. Felt kinda good though it was about 92 degrees. The line has a small leak in it somewhere, I have a tournament up at High Rock this month so I am sure Mark will get it taken care of then.. Oh almost forgot the most important part, I won the tournament on Sunday so the livewells are now broke in... Thanks BassCat for a great looking, built and handling boat.. Not bad on speed either... Nice to ride better than a Ranger or Triton and then pass them

We are playing with some clamps on the speedo line, and we may have an extra clamp for Mark. We are going to make those clamps available for later model boats, and those late model owners who need one, once we get them in stock.We are glad you are pleased with your 2008 Puma and the new hull. It has an enhanced ride over the older hull. BCB

I was thinking of trying a Corbin Clamp, looks like it would be easy to install in the tight spot and hold well.As far as the 08 ride. Never rode in an 07 but the 08 rides like a dream. Been in and have driven most brands of boats none ride better.There arent a lot of BassCats in this area and everyone is checking it out. I think there will be some more in the near future.

I have a 2008 Puma also with a 225 Pro XS. Where will I find the proper height on the jackplate? I have my propshaft leveled and centered at 3.5″ below the pad. I was running it at 4.5″ below, but it wasnt getting the top end!James

Couldnt tell you I havent played with the setup at all. I dont even know what height my engine is set at right now. I havent measured it. When I have some more time on the lake I will play with setup. Hoping to get a little more by raising the engine a bit. I am running 20 plus pounds of water pressure so know problems there. Will post when I get some more numbers.
