Service Memo concerning new push button box switches
The new stainless steel rod box switches were changed late in 2014 model year. Recently we have seen a few of these switches with corrosion on high use boats. These require a petroleum jelly lubricant applied to the switch stem to reduce corrosion. Incidents of corrosion are limited very few switches we are aware of, however it has been aggressive enough for a warning on serving these switches.
It is policy to lubricate the switches prior to installation and we do feel these were not lubricated. We have no way of knowing how many switches this applies to.
