Never had that happen. Just make sure you loosen all 4 side bolts enough that the slides drop down. If it sticks, Id be thinking some sort of lube myself, but I have not seen this. Mine is almost 10 years old and it goes up and down easily, no hard pulling needed going back up at all.Your description would concern me a bit. The motor is bolted to each side plate with two heavy-duty bolts. I dont see how one side can go lower than the other if every bolt between motor and jack plate is tight. The motor would need to tilt left or right to let that happen I would think… I would certainly check those four motor to plate bolts. Something like 90-100 ft-lbs for those. And by all means, as redngoo suggests, do NOT try to support the motor while raising or lowering it. That big screw in the jack plate is something like a 10 pitch if I measured correctly (2.5 turns per 1/4″ of travel). Thats plenty of “oomph” to lift or lower that motor by itself…As far as “where was I?” I was apparently visiting hades this afternoon. Went down to the river, 95 degrees, 150% humidity, blue skies with nary a cloud to be found. If you saw the movie “space cowboys” where the centrifuge scene was playing out, to quote the flight director “I am getting too old for this crap.” Looking forward to October.Last edited by oldtimer57 on July 20th, 2017, 4:30 am, edited 1 time in total.2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200
