They definitely handle differently when empty as opposed to loaded. Lucky for me, the previous owner of mine started us out with a casual ride and then turned it over to me to drive. Coming out of a Sabre and not knowing the boat, I started out around 45-50mph until I got comfortable and then started opening her up. I had a blast when I started hitting 65-70. I had never been that fast in a boat and I really didnt have to do a whole lot of steering input. I think that had to do with the 4 blade prop and the jackplate height. Once I purchased the boat, loaded it, and started playing with props and jackplate heights, I started having a little chine walk that I still have to learn to control. Im still able to hit 70mph loaded and in this summer heat. I cant wait for the cooler fall temps to see what shell do with the Fury. I guess what Im getting at is that if the guy was scared out of buying a boat due to chine walk, then he must be a beginner. You know the cause now, if he is serious and you think that is a deal maker or a deal breaker, you should be able let him know that you figured out the “problem” which really isnt a problem at all.
