Just wondering if anyone has used these and how well do they work? Recommendations? I am thinking about MossBack Gradient. I need help with my vision in low light situations. Other thoughts? I like the new parts/accessories page! WTG Bass Cat!
I have the Mossback, Yellow and Amber Solar Bat lenses. I typically wear the Yellow ones early, the Amber ones as the day progresses, back to Yellow at dusk. I havent used the Mossback ones all that much (won them in a raffle 5 years ago or so). The MoassBack Gradients sound interesting (transitions from yellow to mossback and back). That would be the pair I would buy if I was in the market.
My wife has a pair with the gradient lens. They fit her well but she says the grey is too dark for her so she only wears them on very bright days. I think the tint is fine for me but it is a matter of what you want. They are well made and backed so I suggest you try them on outside before you buy. They are also like bifocals in that you will need to adjust your site line to use the light tint. The frames she needed have nose pads that work well and are easy to fit if you need those.
Thanks for the feedback. I have some corneal issues so if it is too dark a lens it works against me. You are going to laugh but right now at dusk or sunrise I put on a pair of yellow weedeater protective lenses that I bought at home depot for about $10 but they arent all that great – still better than a simple clear lens. LOL!
I had a pair of the Mossback,,ok but last week they feel apart for no reason, right in the middle. One side went one way and one the other??No reason for it,,,,now Im going back to Wileys
I have poor vision @ low light or night time as well. I use the Solar Bat HiConY under all conditions, including bright sun. Work great for me. I have tried the amber and mossback with poor results.
I won some Solar Bats in a drawing before a tournament meeting at a BFL event. The good part about the glasses are that they are light and appear to be pretty tough. The bad part, in my opinion, is that the lenses are not as good as my normal glasses. I have worn Maui Jims for years. The solar bats are a step down from Maui Jim. I also found the frames on the Solar Bats to be made for small heads. Ive got a big ole melon head……and they never fit me very well. If you dont mind spending a few more bucks, Id buy the Maui Jims, because I believe their worth it. I believe their lenses are better and their frames are better…..but thats just my opinion. They also have several different styles to fit small and melon heads!
Costa del mar 580 in green mirror. Best lense made in my opinion. Has a life time warrant and customer service is excellent…..sound familiar? No distortion and well worth the $.
I just got Costa Del Mar Permits in silver mirror with the 580 glass lense. Best fishing glasses I have ever used easily. Have had numerous ones for fishing, various makes, but these are the best for me. I have a large head and the Permit model fits very well….
The sunglass topic has come up a few times on this board. If you want to do a little more reading here are some links to topics from before. http://basscatowners.yuku…glasses.html#reply-44076http://basscatowners.yuku…/reply/52582#reply-52582 Of course if you want my opinion.. OAKLEY is the best out there. Lots of models to fit every different face and style. Tons of lens configurations and tints, they also do prescription. Best made and top in the industry on ballistic protection (lenses and frames).Last edited by Caldwellj on November 7th, 2009, 4:59 pm, edited 2 times in total.
