Take it back to the shop and have them put it back to stock. Looks like you were better off there. Sounds like he put some serious progression in and also rolled the leading edge of the prop up. That rolling of the leading edge is where you got the better hole shot and midrange from, but as you see it kills the top end. I had my old temptest tuned like that for running around in the marshes down here. It is certainly fixable, just needs to be re-tweaked. It probably has alot better midrange lift as well, which is a characteristic I like in a prop. Somewhere in the middle may be what you are looking for. Just be very forthcoming with your prop man on what you are looking for in your prop. Dont tell him what to do to the prop, just tell him what you want it to do and let him work it for you. Give him very accurate numbers such as Rpms at given speeds and time to plane and Top speed #s. He will tell you if you are asking too much or not. Give him another shot to make it right. Steering was a bit squirrelly–normal I guess. Didnt check the water pressure or the rooster tail. I trimmed up until it quit helping and the rpms pegged @ 5500. The boat was way out of the water–it seemed to lift well. As far a the water pressure, where should it be and what does that translate to performance wise. Sorry, for such a rookie question.

on an 08 Puma with Yamaha VZ 250 HPDI. I run a 25 T1 5700 72.0 MPH with load, good hole shot and rough water control. Water pressure this time of year is low 20s. Keep an eye every time on that M series prop where the blades meet the hub for stress cracks. On the higher HP engines the M series was having some issues with slinging blades. Yamaha will say it is recommended for higher HP engines some prop guys say no. Good Luck, Hope this helps.

Youll want to keep your water pressure around 20 psi, though some run upper teens. Water pressure helps keep engine from overheating. We really dont like to assume on propellers or have them tweaked unless you are very close and know the propeller dude. You were close, and they tried to help loosing the setup. From our perspective it is like starting over. Height must have been close before, though we are not sure what you were trying to gain as you were closer. We would have tried a 25-26 Fury or a 27 T V Max propeller. BCB

If I read correctly you trimmed it up until you stopped gainig and had alot of lift.You need to get the air under the hull then start bumping the trim down so you get some transom lift.If you watch your gps it will tell you if you get to low because you will stop gaing speed.If you are bow high chances are you are now pushing the transom down which will drasticly reduce your speed.
