If the school is unwilling to officially recognize fishing as a team sport (supported by some degree of school funding) then you can always go the school club route which I believe they have to recognize but you (club members) will more than likely have to fund the club yourselves. High school fishing is a big deal in South Carolina and I believe with the right folks putting a little pressure on the school board you can get it recognized as an official school supported sport.
I’ve been involved with SCHSL fishing for the last 6-7 years with my daughter (first female at her high school to fish), my son, and the last couple of years as a volunteer boat captain.
