Stereo Install……

Wanted to add a stereo to the new ride....Looking for suggestions and mounting locals from anyone with existing stereos. I have a 2010 Cougar single console. My old one was in the passenger console but I see the factory mounts some on the drivers side console.

I dont know what electronics you have, but you might consider the Lowrance Sonic Hub if you have one or more HDS units on your boat. Thats what Im going to ask the Admiral to get me for my birthday.

Thought about that……..Ill look into it a little more….I do have Lowrance. I like the way the Sony came from the factory mounted. Thinkin of moving my Pump In/Out round switch to the far right edge and use the existing hole for the stereo mount.

Does BCB or someone else sell the box or did you make it yourself?

Thank you…..This is exactly what I was looking for. Looks great. Speakers in the lower half of both sides also? I had some in my Sabre mounted that way. Also what system is that?

Hawg Dog- Came from BCBjustind- It is a Clarion, best one out in 2008 from BCB. They didnt offer the Sony at that time. I have speakers on both walls and also in the seats.Check out the specs of the Clarion. Very nice. The only thing I dont like about the Clarion is that it has a funky connector for adding ipod or other devices. Tough to find now.

Can you post some pictures as to where the speakers are mounted in the boat not the seats.

Hawg Dawg, I added the box to my 07 Puma. I moved the stereo from the side of the drivers console to the box under the the console. BCB made the box to fit my boat. I called BCB, gave them my Hull ID # and they built the box with the same carpet in my boat so it matches perfectly. If I remember it was about $60 and they shipped it right to my door. Installation was very easy.

I installed my stereo in the drivers side rod box for protection. I would not recommend this location. Put in under the console and youll be happy. Its a pain for me to have to move my rods around so I can open the box and adjust my stereo.
