NOPE, trust me i tried, that is some of the hardest aluminum you will ever find. I drilled them out, then ran a one size larger coarse threaded SS screw, w/ SS lock washer. Before tightening it all down i did put a small bead of silicon on the back plate of the mounting bracket just in the event the screws ever decided to back out. Then i tightned down both bolts, added some silicone to the outside of them to keep them in place, and mounted the transduceer to the bracket.I personally recommend the way its done on the puma and going into the transom where its centered directly on the hull, tape the area, drill the holes, apply liberal amount of silicone to screws, install and your done in about 5 minutes. The jackplate took about 25 minutes. Also when drilling holes I would recommend marking off your drill bit with masking tape to the length you want to stop drilling. This will ensure you only going the depth of the plate, or the desired screw length if drilling into the transom.Last edited by JSLAW on January 5th, 2013, 4:58 pm, edited 2 times in total.
