Talon and Slidemaster Jackplate

Shouldnt be a problem, mine worked fine…just be careful of the setback, I went with a 6 but wish I had used the 9…I think the number is J9SLR (starboard) or J9PLR (port)…

Thanks for the advice justme. I have never messed with any of my jackplates so I am a novice in that dept…so I can simply remove the 2 bolts on the side of the plate and re-screw them with the bracket in between the bolts and the side of the plate? Were you able to use the Slidemaster bolts as is, or did you have to get longer ones? I know the bracket will come with mounting hardware – that said, I assume I will not use it and instead through bolt to the side of the plate with the existing slidemaster bolts? My goal is to install the talon myself, which eliminates the use of the sandwich style mount as I do not have a lift. Thanks again!

We dont have an input on Talon Plates and always suggest you contact that manufacturer.

I believe the mounting holes on the talon bracket are 1/2″ diameter. The bolts in the slidemaster are probably 3/4″.Therefore, to mount to the side of the jack plate you would need to drill out the 1/2″ in holes in bracket to accomodate the 3/4″. Any modification to the bracket would void any possibilty of returning if it doesnt work. I imigine MinnKota is going to tell you to use the sandwich bracket and mount between the transom/jackplate or jackplate/ motor.

Slylox – Yes the side mount Talon bracket goes on the side of the Slide Master Manual plate. I ran this set up before I went to a Hydraulic plate. Remove both bolts and the outer black plate. Keep the back plate as it is threaded.Place your side mounted Talon bracket on and put the bolts through the mount and treaded into the black plate. The Talon mount will replace the outer Black plate on your slide master.If you have any other questions or need a walk through when you mount it.
