Those Handles, are HOTTTTT!

My sabre had the plastic latch handles. My PIV has the nice S.S. latch handles... And man do they get H O T in the sun.....Aside from wearing gloves, what do yall do to battle this? Ive been just leaving them unlatched while fishing so I can just grab the edge of the lid and open and box. But I like to latch them while running if I can. My Latches have never leaked so I have gone as far as dumping water on them to cool em, other than that I just grin and bear it, and Be real quick.

All chrome latches get hot. After a few burns youll learn where not to kneel or touch blindfolded.

Thats why the livewells have those nice draw latches on them now.

I have thought about replacing the southco latches on my livewells to the plastic perkos. They wont be as durable, but they wont be as hot either.
