TM batteris coming up short

The last 2 weekends I have been on the water my TM batteries are dying before the end of the day. This past saturday they were completely gone by 1 PM, had to put it on the trailer. It was very windy and they were pulling a ton of water the other day but I thought i should have made it through the day. So what do I need to do to find out what is the problem?

check water level and test with battery hydrometer

I would bet it is your charger. I just had the same thing happen to me and it was one bank of the charger wasnt charging like it shouldve. Definitely check the water levels… Good luck, battery troubles STINK!!!

Check water, also how old are the batteries?

I check the water leevels once a month or so. They are about a year old, only had the boat that long. I plug the batteries up when I get back from the lake, unplug them after the lights go green on the charger. I dont leave them plug in all the time. Guess I need to take the boat to the dealer to have them check over things.

Just because the lights go green doesnt mean the charger is through charging !!! Leave the charger plugged in overnight ! Then plug in the night before using to “top off” the batteries. The charger still charges while green, just at a reduced rate,,,,read the manual for all this info, D.

Was kind of wondering what kind of set up you had. If you are running a 24V then this may not be a battery charger issue and just could be you are using that much juice. I have had it happen several times when I use to have a set up like that. On very windy days and pulling lots of water I have used mine up before the end of the day. Had this happen to me twice during tournaments. Is the reason I went to a 36V with 3 dedicated batteries just for the trolling motor. Plus depending on how much you fish and how much you have charged and discharged those batteries. They could be getting a little weak. Take Care and Good Luck JW

I should have clarified…I do top them off all night the night before I go fishing.

My boss has a stealth charger. It charges the battery while you run. Nice for 36V TM systems. He also has the cable that runs from the tow vehicle to the boat to charge the boat while towing. If you fish a lot,will never have to plug your charger into AC. We fish the Mississippi river. This is where the stealth is at its best. Make a run and get recharged. I am planning on installing the system on my PII.

Were you at Jordan ? I saw a Basscat down there this past Sat. at Bonners and introduced myself to the owner but it was not you. We had 14lbs. and didnt finish in the top 10. 17 lbs. of spots and (4) 16 lb. stringers of spots weighed in our club tourney Sat.We never got the big bite we needed. I was very impressed to see 7 or 8 different Basscats down there Sat. Unfortunately we took my partners not Cat since it was his month to provide the ride !
