TM Shaft Length

It depends on what kind of water you fish…Here in Michigan most guys run 52″ shafts and pull them up some when fishing shallow water. The longer shaft makes all of the difference in in the world in Rollers…I have a MK Maxxum Pro on a Jag with a 52″ shaft and love it..

I run the 52″ on mine. Some run the 42″ but if you fish main lake stuff in the wind you will appreciate the 52″ shaft. It does get in the way in the early spring but it is worth it when the wind is blowing in my opinion. Judd Lasiter

The shafts on the new FourTrex models are 45″ now and not 42″ as they were previously. They should be more user friendly now and versatile.

Can I upgrade to a 52″ MK Fortrex on my 07 Puma? It should fik alright shouldnt it? Right now I have a 42 MG which is too short. Thx

I just mounted a 52″ MK 101 Maxxum Pro on my 08 Puma from a MG 109 and the 4 holes lines up perfectly. Had to modify the plastic of the mount a little and use the isolators because of the lip on the top cap of the Puma. Have to watch where you lay your rods and the rod box will only open a little with the motor in the stowed position. But I had the same problem fishing main lake, blow out. Hope this helps.

45″ which is fine for most areas. The open water anglers might go to a 50″ on the Great Lakes, though not the reservoir and river anglers. I tried putting a 52″ MK 101 with lift assist on my Classic, too big. It gets in the way of rod box etc. So its for sale, if anyone is looking. Send me an email
