Tool Holder on Sabre or Pantera

The compression tool holder one Premium boats is an excellent part design and takes up almost no room. Of course it is tooled into the deck and not an easy part for after installs to replicate.

The box models in plastic don’t retain well and there are not a lot of high quality designs. Most are just plastic slot trays and cups.

This topic has come up here now a couple of times and we are going to keep it in thought for a better and cleaner design.

Rapala makes slotted tool holders, that are magnetic.  One has 3 slots, one has 2.  I have put these on all my cats (sabre,P2,Cougar).They have a slotted back and they come with 4 screws to attach with.  On my sabre I screwed it just below the center step seat.

On the others I filled in the slots on the back side with epoxy putty (to make the back smooth) and used double sided velcro tape (industrial grade) to attach them.Pics are from my P2 and mounted slightly offset from center.  This is to keep from catching a pant leg on a plier when stepping off the cooler (don’t ask me why I know this – lol).

Big thanks Catman! I will make that work. I was wanting the compression holder by basscat but it wont work because part of tool holder is formed into the cap itself.

I like the Rapala holder too. Will have to keep an eye out for that. I wonder if you could use double sided velcro to attach under lid of rod locker or tackle storage lid.

I ordered some really strong magnets from Amazon and use them in the bow well of my cougar to hold pliers and scissors. Attached them with 3m double sided tape. 3 months in and still works great.

Magnets are a very good option, unless you have aluminum, stainless or plastic tools.

For myself, I want quick access, so the tools need to be located outside the lockers. Otherwise I would leave them in a Plano box. Another company PROcise makes a tool holder. Its an aluminum angle with holes for tool storage. Clean looking. But would allow tools to rub against the gel coat.

That tool holder that c130 posted looks like the one a fellow over on BBC makes. His user name there is stratos284 and you can message him. I once put one on the side of my console in one of my boats. If it is not the exact one as pictured, it is pretty close.

This is a nice aluminum one also, and he could probably make a larger one for more tools

Simple but it works I’m thinking a billet aluminum with BcB logo that screws around seat post that hold scissors on one side pliers on the other would be nice
