You never mentioned engine RPM in your post. – This can be very important data in this area of performance and/or tuning. – I’ve been running Yamaha’s for 30 years, and the best performing prop on a Yamaha, in my humble opinion , is a Yamaha . – I’ve tried Fury’s and Tempest’s both, and I personally like the Yamaha better. – For all out running, the 25M is the right choice, but for GREAT all around performance and cruising I run a 23M that has been reworked by Randy Reinke at ” The Prop Doctor ” . — I run a 1999 Classic with a modified 200 Pro-V . — The 23 will give me 67 / 69 MPH on the limiter @ 6300 RPM , but I can stay on plane at 20 MPH when desired. — Holeshot is simply unbelievable as well. — With the 25, which was also reworked by Randy, I”ve seen 82.3 MPH@7000 RPM on an all-out speed run , ( rev limiter bypassed ) . – It all comes down to what it is you want from your boat. — I’d try a 23M first, and then play with the jackplate a little bit. – Sounds like you may be a little too low. — Hoss
