jburch, We prefer to give mankind a bit of a break and think they never knew they hit it, which is not uncommon if they had a rookie driver backing down while they waited.Sorry for your issue, and we probably would leave it if it is not too bad, then you wont be near as upset the next time it occurs. I feel your pain, I got mine hit last year and then again this year on the same fender. The second time fishing partner saw him hit it he stopped and exchanged numbers. I took mine to a local shop it was going to be around 500 to fix it with it being silver flake, it was cheaper to buy a new one and it should be shipping today from the factory.

BCB, I to feel we should be forgiving and hope no one would just walk away, just very frustrated due to the vast amount of room that was available to miss the fender. The guys at H2O Sports are the best. Ken and Larry have always gone out of there way to help. May just live with it for a while. tae73, at least your partner saw the second one and got the info. Mine is solid white so it may still be cheaper to replace than fix.

My brother had his left fender clipped the last two years he fished at Lake Ouachita, Crystal Springs ramp. He lives in Texarkana, TX, but grew up here in LR. Never had parking lot issue until 2 yrs ago.I know the lot at Murray is huge and not used as much as it used to be. I just wonder if some people park next to other trailers as a “safety” measure against thieves.I know when I go to Burns Park, I back my trailer up against the guard rail to help deter someone trying to make off with the trailer.The used Eyra that I own now has seen more than its fair share of parking lot encounters judging by the amount of missing pieces. This happens I am sure quite a lot. I also had the same type of incident when I was fishing a tourn. on Sam Rayburn and waiting to fill the boat up with gas until I got close to keep from pulling the extra weight when pulling into a gas station off of Hwy 96 I was almost to the pumps when a older suburban backed up and struck my trailer causing some damage and getting so close to the boat that the bumper of the surburban broke the cinch strap that was securing the back of the boat to the trailer. The lady got out and said she was sorry and she had insurance. I said Ok all I am looking for is just to fix the damage to my trailer. So she gave me the insurance imformation and right away I called her insurance co and they said they needed to talk to the driver of the surburban. I gave the driver my phone and the next thing I heard was “I swear I made a payment” I knew right then and there I was on my own to fix someone elses damage to my equipment. Even after a period of time of trying to make contact I never got anywhere. It is agravating but you can not get something from someone that does not have anything. I just wanted to have my trailer fixed.

Shoulda just jacked her for whatever cash she had on hand and tell her she better call it even. If people cant pay attention to what theyre doing while they back up, ask for a spotter or just pull around and come in forwards so there isnt an issue. I was really lucky with the old boat cuz I could launch and have y dad or wife drive the truck and trailer back to the lakehouse, pick them up there, then go fish. I would hate leaving a vehicle in a parking lot with no one around. I have had both of mine hit – the first year I had the boat. One side got a second shot the following year. I have just left it until time to sell and get a new Cat. No point in putting a fresh fender on there to have it hit too. BTW – I never received a note or apology. The first one had paint from the other fender on mine (parked in the first spot of an empty parking lot when I launched). All the way across the parking lot was the only other truck/trailer with front fender damage on the opposite side of mine. Im sure he knew what happened to park that far away.

I have been in the parking lot wiping down my boat and see someone hit a trailer. One got out and looked, got back in and proceeded to load up the boat. I asked him if he was going to leave his info on the truck/trailer he hit and it appeared he was not really that interested and a little angry. So instead of making it an issue anymore I just write down the vehicle info/tag number and leave it on the damaged vechile. Then at least the owner can call and work it out. jignpig, I always thought the ramp at Crystal or the ramp at Hamilton would be where this would happen. The parking lots there are way to tight for the length of these rigs. And lets not even start down the road of using 2 or 3 spots instead of taking the time to pull in straight. I think that smbassman has the right idea just leave it for now as this is probably not the first or the last time it will hit.

The maiden voyage of my brand new 2000 boat and my father in law runs into a parked trailer at the ramp. Luckily we knew the other guy and let him know what he did. I got it fixed right away. I am the type of guy that if something is broken, you fix it, otherwise the little things add up and next thing you know, you have a dozen things to fix and your boat starts to be less appealing! Sorry about your damage, truly does stink that the person did not man up!
