Little question about my light on my trailer,my break light an flasher work , I can back up my boats but side light nd my day light doesnt work any more what should I look for…thanks for any info
Add some silicone…that should take care of the problem.
balata9999,Those grommets are really hard to get in there if the holes are cut tight like they should be, and often you dont get the grab lip in the tail assembly hole. That is usually what happens, though if it is loose now, then you can use an adhesive. Though it should not have loosened due to the tail lamp coming out. BCB
Follow billius advice and run a bead of silicone around it. Had the same problem with mine a few years back as I think the cut out holes in the trailer were just a tad too large. Havent fallen out since adding the silicone.
sorry forgot to add this I for a saber ftd 2010 trailer
It sounds like there may be a ground issue, or the plug that goes into your tow vehicle may be bad.
Thanks I will try a new plug
Exact description? Clearance lights right and leftTail lights right and leftBrake and signal lamps right and leftBackup lights or solenoid for brakes There are only four power wires and a white ground. Blue – backupGreen – right hazard, brake, signal Yellow – left hazard, brake signalBrown – tail lamps & clearance lights
Clearance lights right and left and tail light right and left are not working ,break and flasher work ,was able to back up boat with no issue .
could also be a fuse on your tow veh some times can spark or ark when you plug lights into tow veh if there on when u plug it up I had problem this morning but was caused by pulling a work trailer that had a bad ground and it blew two fuses on my tow veh and I didnt catch it till I hooked to my boat trl good luck Last edited by jbassertn on July 1st, 2013, 1:47 am, edited 1 time in total.
Bought a new plug today ,will try it to tonight when get back home thank for input
Light still not working I think the issue is not the trailer but the truck since I tried my other trailer an light where not working either! , I dint find any blown fuses ????
Just cross plug the connector to the trailer and use the trailer as a diagnostic tool to verify which wire is working and which are not. Turn the plugs 90% to each other and while on the ball hitch plug an operating pin into a wire lead on the trailer that functions, then plug the next supply wire to that pin on the trailer to lights that work.
Solved. Needed to have swing tongue, bow bow strap tight and ball latch all made up it seems. All good.
Just check with your rental company. When I had to get a rental they told me I wasnt allowed to use vehicle to tow in no uncertain terms. It was Enterprise and here in NY where we regulated to freaking death so it may be a State thing but if its not, just wanted to give you a heads up.
